The purpose of this seminar is to provide a forum for work placement practitioners, and representatives from family businesses and community and voluntary groups, to examine the opportunities and challenges for Irish higher education institutions in engaging with these organisations through the student work placement process. The results of UCC's Beyond Big Business for Student Work Placement project will be examined, including an overview of the results of surveys issued to both placement practitioners and employer organisations in mid-2012.
