Cork Showcased as International Innovative Leader with Award

Cork Chamber today congratulated Cork City Centre Forum partners on the successful win of Cork Cashes Out at the Contactless and Mobile Awards 2016 held in London yesterday evening.

Speaking from the awards, Conor Healy, CEO of Cork Chamber said: “The Cork Cashes Out pilot scheme has provided significant benefits to businesses in Cork, increased safety for traders and consumers, and has showcased our city as a national and now also international leader in becoming a technologically advanced and cash free society.

“The scheme successfully increased the number of contactless transactions in the city by 520% due to the strong support from both business owners and the people of Cork as well as payment providers and local stakeholders.”

“We look forward to continue our work with the Forum as the scheme evolves, making Cork an even smarter and costumer friendly city”, he concluded.
