Be Informed about New Water Tariffs

Last week, Irish Water joined us for an information seminar on the introduction of new non-domestic water tariffs. The purpose of the meeting was to raise awareness among Cork business about the impact of a new national water tariff proposed by Irish Water, which is currently subject to consultation.

We urge any business that has water as a notable overhead to engage in the consultation, inform themselves, and to use Irish Water’s future bill calculator to see how they may be affected.

Last week, Irish Water joined us for an information seminar on the introduction of new non-domestic water tariffs. The purpose of the meeting was to raise awareness among Cork business about the impact of a new national water tariff proposed by Irish Water, which is currently subject to consultation.

While the principle of moving to a single way of calculating water rates for business and to incentivise reduction of water usage makes sense, the final results of that change must ensure that Ireland remains internationally competitive on cost and that businesses are given sufficient opportunity to transition to a new system.

We urge any business that has water as a notable overhead to engage in the consultation, inform themselves, and to use Irish Water’s future bill calculator to see how they may be effected.

The Commission for Regulation of Utilities are inviting feedback on the new tariff proposals, which can be found here. If you have comments or want to discuss Irish Water’s proposals in further detail please contact Sarah by email.
