Message from Conor Healy, Cork Chamber CEO

The past few days have brought much change to our lives. The COVID-19 situation is rapidly evolving, and Government has escalated controls in the interest of public health. We know there is much uncertainty right now, and while it is still relatively early days, we continue to work tirelessly to represent the interests of you, our members, and indeed the wider business community. Our community is resilient, and together we will get through this.

During this time, we will be providing you with frequent updates and resources. I want to share important details with you on how we are supporting our members, new resources we have made available and adjustments we made to our operations.

Chamber Operations

To protect the health of our employees and following Government recommendations we have activated a remote work policy for the team. Services such as Export Documentation and Reception are operating as normal from our office with the recommended social distancing rules being followed. This weekly e-bulletin will share updates on our online training and other support services available and is designed to keep you and your team connected and abreast of the relevant information needed to adapt to the changing environment.

Advocacy and Representation

Our advocacy remains as strong as ever, and we are in daily contact with local and national government, and the key stakeholders about the impact this is having on every size of business. Together we are working to ensure you have programs and policies in place to help you through this difficult time. It is imperative that government support our business community and that policies are put in place that will ensure our employers can maintain operations and support employees in the best way possible.

What help do you need now in the short-term? Let us know

Cork Chamber have opened a survey today, which closes on Friday, seeking business opinion on measures to assist in this challenging time. Through our representation and advocacy the substance of this survey will provide direct insight for Government decision making. Please take a moment to answer the 8 short questions linked here
