Business Breakfast - Tuesday 13th November - Imperial Hotel

Fiona Buckley

Tourism in the South West Region accounts for a significant amount of revenue every year and as such it is a very important economic driver for Cork’s economy. With plans for The Gathering currently underway, Ireland is imparking on one of the most strategic initiatives in the tourism sector for a long time.  As such Cork Chamber are delighted to have Fiona Buckley, Head of Operations with Fáilte Ireland, speak at our next business breakfast.

Fiona’s remit has a strong focus on the South West region of Cork and Kerry, which is the biggest destination for overseas visitors outside of Dublin and with over 2,800 business operating in the tourism sector from accommodation to attractions, activities, transport, pubs and restaurants.

Fiona has worked as Chief Executive for Cork Kerry Tourism prior to the regional authority’s transition into Fáilte Ireland and was also head of marketing with the Blarney Woollen Mills Group operating in the retail, hotel, manufacturing, wholesale and export sectors and MD of Kellmorr Investments in Cork.

This is a unique opportunity to gain insight into the tourism activities, plans and challenges for the South West Region and the opportunities that The Gathering 2013 can bring to Cork businesses.
