Have Your Say: The Future of Cork Airport

Your Chamber is currently engaged in extensive policy development work to ensure that our region’s aviation requirements are communicated to the Dublin Airport Authority (DAA) and the Department of Transport.

We are currently preparing a submission in response to the Department of Transport’s public consultation for the first ever National Aviation Policy.  The Department has released an Issues Paper which details the eight broad areas that they plan to incorporate into the new national policy to address the major challenges facing the industry, stakeholders and Government.  These are:

Airports

Aerospace, Maintenance, Repair & Overall

Air Services

Education & Training
Regulation & Governance General Aviation
Aircraft Leasing & FinanceSustainability

Cork Airport is a key and vital resource for all businesses within the region and we are very keen to incorporate the voice of business into our submission on aviation policy requirements.

Could all members who have comments/feedback on the eight areas or any additional issues that need to be addressed within the policy, please contact Aislinn Stanton by email aislinn@corkchamber.ie or phone (021) 4530143 no later than Wednesday 19th June at 5pm.

In other aviation news, Padraig O’Riordain, Chair of the DAA is our guest-speaker at this month’s Chamber Breakfast event on Thursday 13th June and will provide an exclusive insight into the future of Cork Airport.
