Our Chamber Ambassador Programme has kicked off in full swing with the first meeting of 2018 having taken place recently. Chamber Ambassadors are members who have seen the value of Chamber membership and have shown an interest in helping to promote this message to new and existing members. The aim of the Ambassador programme is to give Chamber members, and in particular new members, an additional opportunity to learn directly from existing members. Cork Chamber is delighted to once again be involved with this great awards program, an initiative from the Lord Mayor office of Cork City. The awards will be presented to Family Businesses based in Cork City in the following categories:

• Retail Businesses (4 Awards in total)
• Trades (2 Awards in total)
• Professions (2 Awards in total)

Pilz’ opened a new €7.4m software development centre on Model Farm Road, which will house 70 new jobs.

Commenting on the unveiling of the new centre, Conor Healy, Cork Chamber CEO, said: “I wish to congratulate Pilz on celebrating 20 years in business in Cork. I am delighted to see Pilz marking this milestone by opening a new state-of-the-art software development centre and expanding with 70 new jobs to drive growth over the next two decades.”

Cork Chamber encourages members to engage with this public consultation process and to make submissions either individually or to forward comments for consideration as part of the Cork Chamber submission to Michelle  / Sarah  no later than Monday 2^nd April. In light of the most recent weather/ flood warnings and previous major flooding incidences, it is crucial that the project moves forward as soon as possible.
