Cork Chamber is delighted to welcome Michael Cawley, Chair of Fáilte Ireland as the guest speaker at the upcoming April Business Breakfast, in association with the Irish Examiner. Michael was appointed as Fáilte Ireland Chairman in 2014 when the tourism industry was just beginning to emerge from a period of contraction during the recession. Since then, Fáilte Ireland have launched numerous successful initiatives to help develop tourism products around the country, such as the Wild Atlantic Way, Ireland’s Ancient East and the rebranding of Dublin as well as a large number of other smaller regional projects. This is an opportunity for you to hear directly from Michael on Fáilte Ireland’s plans to support continued growth in the tourism sector and how they are preparing to approach potential future challenges such as the impact Brexit will have on UK visitor numbers.

New Pilz Software Development Centre Opens in Cork, Creating 70 New Jobs
Pilz’ opened a new €7.4m software development centre on Model Farm Road, which will house 70 new jobs. Commenting on the unveiling of the new centre, Conor Healy, Cork Chamber CEO, said: “I wish to congratulate Pilz on celebrating 20 years in business in Cork. I am delighted to see Pilz marking this milestone by opening a new state-of-the-art software development centre and expanding with 70 new jobs to drive growth over the next two decades.”

Public Consultation: Morrison's Island Public Realm and Flood Defense Project
Cork Chamber encourages members to engage with this public consultation process and to make submissions either individually or to forward comments for consideration as part of the Cork Chamber submission to Michelle / Sarah no later than Monday 2nd April. In light of the most recent weather/ flood warnings and previous major flooding incidences, it is crucial that the project moves forward as soon as possible.
