Public Investment, Prudence and Targeted Business Support Must be Key to Budget 2017
Cork Chamber today launched its submission to Government ahead of Budget 2017. The submission focuses on five key areas for prioritisation in the budget: Supporting Business Activity; Investing in Our People; Investing in the Future; Supporting Local Economic Development; and Minimising External Risks. Commenting on the submission, Barrie O’Connell, President of Cork Chamber, said: “Budget 2017 is set in a time of continued business confidence, increasing consumer spending and improving Exchequer tax returns. At the same time, Brexit, political developments on both sides of the Atlantic and the wider geopolitical environment present a number of uncertainties that may impact our economy in the short to medium term.”
