Dear Chamber Member,

I hope you, your families, friends and colleagues are all well.

This week's announcement by Government of increased measures, in response to concerning case and cluster numbers, are a stark reminder to us all that we must remain vigilant in slowing and controlling the spread of Covid-19. We must all continue to endeavour to prevent those restrictions being extended to other regions or measures being further increased across the country. Dear Chamber Member,

I hope you, your families, friends and colleagues are all well.

This week's announcement by Government of increased measures, in response to concerning case and cluster numbers, are a stark reminder to us all that we must remain vigilant in slowing and controlling the spread of Covid-19. I know from engaging with Chamber colleagues in the counties currently experiencing restrictions, the impact that has had locally. We must all continue to endeavour to prevent those restrictions being extended to other regions or measures being further increased across the country. Full details of the Government update can be read <HERE>.

We are continuing to engage with Government with regard to the various support measures that have been put in place, and urge all businesses to review and make application for those supports as appropriate and also to highlight to us any anomalies. See Business Supports Page <HERE>. Government has identified September 13 as the date by which a further roadmap for recovery will be announced. It is essential that this roadmap contains the clarity demanded by business, provides confidence in terms of the support structures and identifies an agreed national strategy for the period ahead.

While the context of Covid-19 is undoubtedly a priority, we at the Chamber continue to progress other critical projects in parallel. We have been actively engaged on a variety of issues including the Cork County Development Plan 2022-2028, Cork Metropolitan Area Transport Strategy and ave published Building Resilience report under our Sustainable Cork Programme. We will soon be making submissions on the Cork City Development Plan 2022-2028 and the MacCurtain Street Improvement Scheme

Our events and training team continue to evolve their offering to meet the changing needs of our business community, while our Export Documentation Team has maintained its essential service right through the restrictions.

The challenges facing our business community are immense and we are here to support you on your journey. I welcome your feedback and input so that, together, we can build economic resilience for Cork, email me <HERE> or 087 9471858 or make contact with any of the team at Cork Chamber.

Take Care,

Conor Healy
