Today Cork Chamber President Ronan Murray and CEO Conor Healy welcomed Anne Graham, CEO of the National Transport Authority to present at our Business Breakfast #CCBreakfast. Transport remains high on the agenda for Cork Chamber and our members. This event gave members opportunity to hear first hand about the progress on CMATA (Cork Metropolitan Area Transport Strategy) - with updates on BusConnects, electrification on the suburban rail line, cycleways & walk ways. Light rail for Cork was well discussed, and it was outlined that (transformative though it may be), light rail is not in the current National Development Plan. On the topic of light rail, Conor Healy, CEO of Cork Chamber commented "𝘛𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘪𝘴 𝘢 𝘬𝘦𝘺 𝘪𝘴𝘴𝘶𝘦 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘊𝘰𝘳𝘬. Partner Corporate Finance EY Ireland - Strategy and Transactions (SaT) & President Cork Chamber of Commerce

As President of Cork Chamber, I was delighted to welcome and introduce Ann Graham CEO of the National Transport Authority (NTA) at this morning’s breakfast event in Cork. The NTA plays a pivotal role in shaping the future of transportation in Ireland. In Cork we heve seen great progress in our public transport system through the implementation of the Cork Metropolitan Area Transport Strategy (CMATS). The continued progress on connectivity, sustainability and that comprehensive approach to urban mobility was set out in an insightful event expertly chaired by Chamber Chief Executive Conor Healy. Well done to the Chamber team on bringing it all together on what was one of my last public events as a proud President before the conclusion of my term! #Sustainability #Infrastructure #UrbanMobility #PublicTransport #Innovation #BBWW

Lovely evening in Cork County Council for the PSYCHED event! We were delighted to recieve our certificate for Psyched Recognition for 2023, recognising our commitment to mental health promotion in the workplace. PSYCHED plays a crucial role in promoting mental health awareness and well-being in the workplace. By recognising organisations committed to this cause, it fosters a culture where employees feel supported and valued. This initiative also contributes to breaking the stigma surrounding mental health issues. #mentalhealthawareness

Yesterday we attended the Transport & Mobility Forum Cork's "Mix your Mode” seminar, brining together stakeholders, students, scholars from UCC and local GAA representatives. It was inspiring to witness the enthusiasm in the room and how young social innovators are contributing to the sustainable mobility agenda. The seminar was held at Cork County Hall while Cork County Council celebrated its milestone 125th anniversary at the county hall. The County Mayor Cllr Frank O'Flynn promised, “We'll work to build a more sustainable and prosperous county for generations to come”, aligning with the theme of the conference and the on-going efforts by stakeholders in Cork to advance sustainable transportation.
