Cork Chamber represent business on the South West Skills Forum linking business and educators to ensure that programmes are responsive to business needs.

The Forum Manager is also working with the Education and Training Boards in rolling out a new fully funded digital mentoring and upskilling programme for experienced operators in the manufacturing sector.  The programme is delivered flexibly over a six week focused time-frame & focuses on upskilling employees in digital & wider professional skills through a personal & company group project agreed at programme outset. Coaching & professional development supports and learning materials such as digital tablets are provided.

Cork City Centre Fashion Festival

The Cork City Centre Fashion Festival produced by Lockdown Events and supported by Cork City Council, will take place on September 7th & 8th.

An exciting sold out fashion show will take place in City Hall on the Friday night and Saturday,

September 8th will see a large scale fashion trail across the city centre, which will be officially opened by Brendan Courtney. There will be a host of fun and stylish events throughout the day at participating department stores and independent boutiques around the city centre such as demonstrations, fashion clinics, DJ’s and much more. Events are open to all and free to attend.

Mission to International Nanotechnology Exhibition & Conference in Tokyo, Japan

A nanotech mission to Japan organised by the EU-Japan Centre will take place from 29 January - 1 February 2019.

The EU-Japan Centre covers all costs directly related to the mission.

 

This mission may be of specific interest to EU SMEs or clusters working in sectors covered by the fair, such as nano materials, evaluation and measurement, fabrication technology and areas of nanotechnology application.
