Our engagements in New York provided a platform to promote Cork as a globally competitive location for investment, talent and innovation, with a particular focus on international financial services and technology.
Through our involvement in the Irish Funds New York seminar, alongside members of the Cork Financial Services Forum, we engaged directly with key stakeholders in the global funds industry, reinforcing Cork’s position within Ireland’s financial services offering.
The visit also included participation in a number of high-profile industry events, including the European Distribution Playbook hosted by BNY and Waystone. Discussions consistently highlighted Ireland’s strong reputation as a gateway to Europe, with its expertise and talent continuing to attract US firms expanding internationally.
Further engagements included networking events hosted by AIB and Digital Irish, providing opportunities to connect with a wide range of US and Irish businesses, including Cork Chamber members operating in the market. Harnessing these opportunities is critical in strengthening our global business network and supporting member engagement abroad.
We also attended the launch of the American Chamber of Commerce Ireland’s 2026 report at the Irish Consulate, which underscored the scale of the Ireland–US economic relationship. Key findings highlighted over 1,000 US companies are operating in Ireland, employing 245,000 people, alongside Ireland’s position as the fifth largest source of FDI into the United States.
Overall, the visit reinforced Cork’s strong value proposition and the continued importance of building relationships in one of the world’s leading financial and business centres.
