Monthly Unemployment Rate Drops to 7.7% in October

The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate for October 2016 was 7.7%, down from 7.9% in September 2016 and 9.2% in October 2015.

The youth unemployment rate in October 2016 meanwhile stood at 15.1%.

In context of falling unemployment rates, Cork Chamber continues to survey members on positions that are proving hard to fill. If you and your business are having difficulties attracting talent or filling specific roles, we encourage you to engage in our economic surveys or to contact a member of the policy team to share your experiences.
