<description>Dear Cork Chamber Member,

Cork Chamber is following the ongoing situation with regard to disruptions caused by fuel protests and blockages of roads and key facilities closely.

We are engaging with Government, Chambers Ireland and other key stakeholders as the situation continues to evolve, emphasising the significant impact on members and underlining the importance of bringing current blockages to an end as soon as possible.

Disruption to economic activities, trade, fuel supply and the movement of the general public as a result of the protests is considerable. We are actively monitoring recent escalations in the situation in the Cork region, particularly in relation to the Port of Cork, the oil refinery in Whitegate, and key industrial areas such as Ringaskiddy.

We understand that rising costs and the evolving energy situation resulting from the wider geopolitical environment are a concern for many in the business community, and we have actively engaged with Government on the impact of these increased costs, including ways to mitigate the increased burden they impose.

We will continue to engage with impacted members and ensure the views of Cork Chamber members are heard by Government as the situation continues to evolve.

If you have any specific business concerns you would like to discuss, please feel free to contact us directly.

Yours sincerely,

Conor Healy

CEO
