The Q3 2025 Economic Trends survey of Cork Chamber members gathered insights into their experiences of doing business across July, August and September 2025.
Sponsored by PTSB, this edition of the Economic Trends survey asked respondents about their views on Cork's night-time economy and events offering.
EVENTS AND THE NIGHT-TIME ECONOMY
Dining out emerged as the most popular reason for spending time in Cork city centre, cited by 68% of respondents.
Attending arts and cultural events, as well as live music performances, is also a key reason for spending time in the city.
Respondents highlighted the importance of Garda visibility, the design of public realm spaces and the availability of transport at night when it comes to feeling safe in Cork city.
Maintaining and enhancing safety in Cork city centre will be critical to further improving Cork’s night-time economy and events offering.
According to the survey results, providing more dedicated events spaces in Cork would support local businesses, attract more visitors to Cork and strengthen the region’s overall competitiveness by attracting investment and talent.
CONFIDENCE IN THE IRISH ECONOMY
73% of respondents expressed confidence in the Irish economy in Q3 2025, on a par with recent surveys.
EMPLOYMENT DATA
In Q3 2025, 63% of respondents reported that their employee numbers remained the same, while 26% saw an increase in employees.
