Commercial Energy Efficiency Survey

Energy Efficiency is about producing the same or better results with less energy. Making our buildings more energy efficient has multiple benefits, ranging from making them nicer environments, to lowering energy bills.  This can be achieved by improving a building with better insulation, upgraded heating or LED lighting and there are a range of supports available

For businesses, improved energy efficiency also contributes to improved competitiveness as well as increasingly important green credentials.  The Department of Communications, Climate Action and Environment are looking to engage with businesses of all sizes to:

  • outline some of the benefits energy efficiency delivers for businesses and the supports currently available to improve energy efficiency
  • provide an opportunity for businesses to have their voices heard on how they could be better supported to improve their energy efficiency.

You can access the survey here

Subsidised Training
Using Skills Analysis & Learning as a Tool for Business Growth
Starts November 7th - €175 for Chamber Members

Owner Managers of companies can sometimes overlook the importance of defining a Learning and Development Strategy as a tool that can assist them in the achievement of their overall company objectives. Businesses will often have a financial plan, a sales plan and perhaps a vision and mission statement as instruments that can guide their activities.Rarely will they have a Strategic Learning Plan.

A strategic Learning Plan is a Plan, which outlines the Learning required by the individuals and the teams in any organisation. It includes what the best type of intervention might be, for example, coaching, mentoring and online or instructor led training. Each learning area is linked directly to a Business Goal.

The aim is to embrace learning as a core business tool that can help a business to achieve its growth objectives.

Have you relocated to Cork recently?

Collins McNicholas are conducting a survey in partnership with IDA Ireland, Cork Chamber and Cork City Council, with a view to gathering feedback from people who have relocated to the Cork Region, regarding how their move has impacted both their career and quality of life. It is hoped that the results of the survey will help to attract organisations and talented professionals to the region.  The survey should only take 5 minutes to complete and respondents will automatically be entered into a draw for a brand new iPad Mini! The individual survey results will be kept strictly confidential and the general findings will be used to inform the marketing and promotion of the Cork Region.  If you have a relevant story we would love to hear your feedback!
