Mobility across Europe
Posted Workers in EU States

A "posted” worker is someone who is employed in one EU Member State and sent by his/her employer on a temporary basis to carry out work in another Member State.

As the Posting of Workers Directive requires EU countries to cooperate and share information, national liaison offices and authorities have been set up in each country. They monitor the terms and conditions of employment and are contact points for authorities from other Member States, companies that post workers and posted workers themselves. Find national contact points in each Member State, under the heading 'Work & Retirement' here.

For more information on mobility across Europe or any other aspect of doing business internationally, get in touch with Margaret Kelly, Enterprise Europe Network Coordinator.

Changing Landscape of Cork
A view of Cork 2019

As Ireland's second city region, Cork is home to over half a million people. The region boasts a perfect combination of vibrant and compact city living, with over 1000km of beautiful coastline.

Powered by our sponsors, the Connecting Cork initiative works to reinforce Cork's position as a globally recognised centre for business.

2019 will see some very significant projects coming to fruition. These, among others, will serve the Cork business community through the delivery of much needed office space, living and hotel accommodation. Below are some highlights from JCD, O'Callaghan Properties, Clarendon and BAM Ireland.

JCD is due to complete its construction of 85 South Mall early 2019 while also moving ahead with Penrose Dock development in the heart of the city's docklands, which will span 2 buildings.

O’Callaghan’s have moved ahead with the construction of the second phase of Navigation Square. This €90 million scheme will consist of four separate buildings. Phase I, due to be completed imminently, will deliver 13,800 sq m office space, while phase II will see a further 15,600 sq m which is due to be completed late 2019.

Clarendon and BAM Ireland have begun construction on Horgan’s Quay which will deliver 200 apartments, a 136 bed-hotel and 37,000 sq m of office space.
